Our next ACM meeting will be held on Monday, May 4th at 5:30 pm in Muhly Lounge. Some of the ACM's graduating members will share stories about where they are going after school and what they did to attain their destination. As always there will be free pizza for members.

A reminder that applications for ACM officer positions are due this week. Forms are available in the Computer Science Department office and are due on Friday, March 27th at 4:00 pm. Our four officer positions are President, Vice President, Treasurer/Administrator, and Webmaster/Servermaster. If you have any questions regarding any of the positions, please feel free to ask by email or in the forums. I’d encourage every active member to consider running for a position.
Elections will be held at the meeting on April 6th, when new officers will be announced.
The Iowa ACM's annual programming contest for high school students will be held on Saturday, April 11th from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in MacLean Hall. Complete information is available here.

For the third year in a row, the ACM will be holding an NCAA tournament simulator contest. The basic idea is to code one method (in Java) to determine the winners in the NCAA men’s division 1 basketball tournament given a certain set of stats. The deadline for code submission is Wednesday, March 18 at 12:01 AM. We’ll run your code once to generate your bracket, then send you the results so you can keep track as the tournament progresses.
The next ACM meeting will be held Monday, March 2nd at 5:30 pm in 205 MLH. We'll have a sort of UICC debrief and talk about news and events for the remainder of the semester. Hope to see you there.

Following the meeting at around 6:00 pm, State Farm will be giving a presentation. Topics will include: internships/full time positions, what the experience is like for newer employees, how is State Farm embracing new technologies and innovation, and what is the work environment like. Free pizza will be provided courtesy of State Farm.
